Aerial Photos of Albion Township Farms

The Albion Academy Historical Society has an interesting book on its shelves. John Drury's book, This is Dane County, published in 1958 contains aerial photos of nearly all of the farms in Dane County, including Albion Township, of course. The book is thick - 952 pages, with an estimated 7,000 aerial photos of farms. 31 pages are devoted to Albion Township with 217 farms. Also included are aerial photos of public buildings, like schools and churches. Each farm photo includes the owner's name, post office route number, section number, acreage and renter/tenant (if not owner occupied). It is interesting to see the old farms with numerous small outbuildings.
